We really don’t have to emphasize how important customers are. They are your bread and butter, or perhaps, the people who bring your bread and butter. You need to be careful and very open when you are dealing with your clients. There is no such thing as over-communicating. You need to communicate with your clients because that is the only way you can open channels to build a better relationship with your clients.
Having a better relationship will ensure that your clients are loyal to you, they trust you and will come back again and again to get your services. Here are some tips and tricks that you can use to build a better relationship with your clients.
Like I said before, there is no such thing as over-communicating. However, there is indeed a thing as good communication. Always try to keep your clients informed on matters related to the company. Also, keep the clients in the loop with things that will concern them.
It is always a gesture of good will when you send little things to your clients. For example, if you have a big clientele base in marketing industry, you can send them a book on marketing. Or you can even send some little goodies like a Mug with your company logo, a notepad or key chain. These are little things, but they matter to your clients and makes you connect with them.
How many times your wife or girlfriend complained that you do not listen to her? Well, your clients are just like them in this regard. You need to listen to them, hear what they are saying and try to implement their advice in to your business.
The best way to achieve a great relationship with your clients is by being honest with them in every single matter. If something is achievable, let them know, if not, let them know. Trust us. Most of the times, being honest with them from the get go is the best way to approach any matter.
Providing your clients with everything they need is great for the business, but you need to stay realistic. If you can do the requested job, great, do it. But if it is not possible for you, say no right from the beginning. It is okay to try, but you need to be realistic and have other clients to satisfy, so don’t be afraid of saying no.
Stay polite. You cannot expect the clients to be happy with you if you are not polite with them. Always stay courteous with your words and tone. Use the words “kindly”, “please” “regrettably” etc. in your sentences to keep the politeness in check!
